Privacy Policy

Blakcat is a personal network security and performance app. It establishes an encrypted connection between your device and a server to protect your data on untrusted networks. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Blakcat apps across all platforms on which they are offered.

Our core privacy commitment: no activity logs

We do not monitor, record, or store your online activity. Specifically, we do not keep logs of:

• the websites, apps, or services you connect to;
• your browsing history or DNS queries;
• the content of your traffic;
• bandwidth or data-usage accounting tied to your activity;
• the originating IP address of your connections in any persistent log.

Because we do not keep this information, we cannot produce, sell, or disclose it.

Information we do handle

To operate your account and the service, we store only what is necessary:

• Email address — to create and sign in to your account, and for account-related messages.
• Password — stored only as a salted one-way hash; we cannot read your password.
• Device management data — a device identifier, device name, and first/last-seen timestamps, used to enforce the per-account device limit and to show you your signed-in devices.
• Session and connection-provisioning metadata — sign-in session timestamps and the time-bounded credential issued to your device so it can connect. This is provisioning data, not a record of your activity.

What we do not collect

• No third-party analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs. The apps do not embed Firebase, Crashlytics, Sentry, advertising, or similar trackers.
• No advertising identifiers (such as IDFA/AAID).
• No tracking of you across other apps or websites.

How we use information

• to provide, maintain, and secure the service;
• to authenticate you and enforce your account's device limit;
• to protect against abuse and to keep the service reliable;
• to comply with applicable law.

Payments

Where a paid subscription is offered, payment is processed by the billing system of the applicable platform or by our payment provider; we do not receive or store your full payment-card details. The iOS version of Blakcat does not offer in-app purchases or third-party payment.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share limited data only with infrastructure providers that host our servers (as processors, to run the service) and where required by law.

Data retention & deletion

We keep account and device-management data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account from within the app; scheduled deletion permanently removes your account data after a short retention window. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data.

Data security

Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and credentials on your device are held in the platform's secure storage.

Children

Blakcat is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
